Life Lessons

I decided to make a page for the "Life Lessons" I have written...Which isn't that many....oops! Sorry...

1- "I've learned that when my dad kisses me in the morning, he tastes like a piece of Jolly Rancher(r) candy." -Age 7

I thought this one was really cute, especially since it was a seven year old. My initial reaction was "The dad must be sneaking in sugar but still trying to hide it from his daughter/son." But then when I stopped to think about it, all it was was a bundle of cuteness! I don't think I can really get a big life lesson out of this, especially since I don't relate to it at all. Just a fun lesson from an innocent, observant kid!

2- "I've learned that you can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk."

I think this lesson doesn't need a response...it really speaks for itself.

3- "I've learned that my best friend is my dog."

As they all say "dog is man's best best friend".
Dogs-or animals in general- never tell your secrets or give you away when you lie or back-stab you. That's something all of my my friends TOGETHER can do...just not as single people.... Sorry if that offends any of my friends reading this, but that's just what humans do. Dogs are always there for you and they know just what to say-nothing...
Dogs ARE the best!

4- "I've learned that life is like a blind date. Sometimes you just have to have a little faith!" -- Age 23.
This entry makes me wonder if I worry too much about what will happen. I want to be able to trust my life and those in it...maybe I'll try that now.

5- "I've learned that if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got" --Age 51.
Which goes with my motto "If you want to change, you have to change". Also, Ghandi's quote "be the change you want to see in this world."

6- "I've learned that you never appreciate what you have until it is gone."
I feel like this one has particular meaning in my life right now. A girl at my local high school killed herself last monday and i never expected her to. That makes me wonder who else is out there who I'm gonna loose and never fully appreciate until then? Who is going to leave me before I have a chance to love them? I think I need to be more appreciative of what I've been given in life...
